Maxwell Matzenbacher has a diverse work history in the gaming and animation industries. Maxwell began their career as a Freelance Animator, working with clients such as The Ebeling Group and MK12. Maxwell then joined Summit Entertainment as an Animator for a brief period. After that, they co-founded a startup called Mirror Match before moving on to work as a Creative Director at Goodgame Studios, where they led a large development team and worked on the creation of a hardcore PC game. Maxwell then transitioned to Carbine Studios, first as a Senior VFX Artist, where they worked on the visual development and combat system of the game WildStar. Maxwell later became a Creative Manager at Carbine Studios, leading the re-development of the game's brand and contributing to various design projects. Maxwell then worked as a SR Combat Designer at Nexon OC, followed by their most recent role as a SR Combat Designer at Obsidian Entertainment. In these positions, they utilized their skills in combat design to contribute to the development of video games. Overall, Maxwell has a solid background in both creative and management roles within the gaming industry.
From 1996 to 2000, Maxwell Matzenbacher attended the College for Creative Studies, where they pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Graphic & Interactive Design.
