Jiawei Yan

Jiawei Yan is an accomplished violist currently serving as the Viola Faculty at OC Music & Dance and as a Substitute Viola with both the San Diego Symphony and Pacific Symphony. With extensive experience, Jiawei has held significant positions such as Guest Principal Viola with the New Jersey Festival Orchestra and Associate Principal Viola with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra. Jiawei's role in the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and contributions as a Graduate Assistant of the String Department at Indiana University further highlight a solid background in orchestral performance and education. An alumnus of The Juilliard School with a Master's degree in Viola Performance, Jiawei also possesses dual Bachelor's degrees in Philosophy and Viola Performance from Bard College. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Music degree in Viola at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Jiawei's diverse expertise spans performance, collaborative practice, and academic coordination.
