Joshua Sasso is the current Police Information Systems Director at the Ocala Police Department. Joshua has been in this position since May of 2018. Prior to that, they were the Manager of MIS at the Ocala Police Department from January of 2016 to May of 2018. In this role, Joshua was responsible for managing the design, deployment, administration, performance management, and support activities of the organization's Active Directory. Joshua also managed the procurement, deployment, administration, and administration of the organization's Content Management systems. Additionally, Joshua was responsible for managing the procurement, deployment, administration, backup and recovery, performance management, replication and support activities of the organization's Database systems. Joshua also managed the procurement, deployment, administration, backup and recovery, performance management, replication, and security of the organization's E-Mail systems. Furthermore, Joshua oversaw the management of the design, procurement, deployment, performance management, security, and administration of the organization's Extranet/Intranet. Lastly, they were in charge of Help Desk operations and personnel and provided Level-3 technical support and 24x7 on-call support for all City computing operations.
Joshua Sasso has a Master's degree in Information Technology Management from Western Governors University. Joshua also has a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Management Information Systems, General from the College of Central Florida. Additionally, they have an Associate of Science in Computer Information Technology from the College of Central Florida and is certified by both Florida State University as a Certified Chief Government Information Officer and CompTIA as an A+.
They are on a team with Steve Cuppy - Patrol Bureau Major, Greg Martin - Special Operations Bureau Major, and Lou Biondi - Deputy Chief of Police. Their manager is Mike Balken, Chief of Police.
