Mary Christianakis

Mary Christianakis serves as a Project Manager and Director at Occidental College, where since August 2002, Mary has developed and managed the OxyGen program, fostering mentorship opportunities between students and alumni. Additionally, as the Department Chair of Critical Theory & Social Justice, Mary oversees curricular efforts, faculty hiring, student advising, and research guidance. Mary also held the position of Editor In Chief for Teacher Education Quarterly from December 2016 to January 2020. Academically, Mary earned a Ph.D. in Education, Language, Literacy, & Culture from the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a Master's degree in English Language and Literature from Loyola Marymount University, as well as a Master's in Education from UCLA and a Bachelor's degree in English from UCLA.
