Tiffany Wheatland-Disu

Assistant Professor | Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at Occidental College

Tiffany Wheatland-Disu, Ph.D., currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at Occidental College, following a tenure as a Ryoichi Sassakawa Fellow at Howard University. With extensive teaching experience, Tiffany has instructed courses in Africana Studies at John Jay College and managed community engagement initiatives at the New York Immigration Coalition. As Project Manager with the Research Foundation of The City University of New York, Tiffany led a project aimed at improving police-community relations. Previous roles include Program Coordinator at Columbia University's Institute for the Study of Human Rights, where Tiffany facilitated networking for grassroots human rights activists, and Graduate Consultant for the United Nations Population Fund, focusing on violence against women. Tiffany holds a Ph.D. in History from Howard University, a Master's in Socio-Economic Development from The New School, and a Bachelor's in International Affairs and Political Science from the University of Iowa.
