Iraj Ghanavati

Iraj Ghanavati is a seasoned reservoir engineer with extensive experience in various roles within the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as a Senior Reservoir Engineer Advisor at Oxy since November 2022, Ghanavati has previously held senior engineering positions at Vermilion Energy and Paramount Resources, among others. Specializing in full field reservoir simulation, waterflood surveillance, and optimization techniques, Ghanavati has demonstrated expertise in model initialization, history matching, and oil decline analysis. Ghanavati's career includes significant contributions as a Project Manager and Reservoir Engineer at the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company in Tehran, where complex waterflood and gas injection performance reviews were executed. Ghanavati's academic background includes a Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Calgary, further complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Production Engineering and a Diploma in Math & Physics.
