Brice THURIN

Brice Thurin has an extensive work experience in the field of optical engineering and research. Brice is currently working as a Senior Optical System Engineer at Occuity since March 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Head of Optics at Bühler Group from January 2020 to March 2023. Brice also worked as a Senior Electo-Optics Development Engineer at Bühler Group from July 2018 to December 2019.

Before joining Bühler Group, Brice worked as a Research And Development Engineer at UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering from January 2017 to July 2018. Prior to that, they were an Optical Engineer at Base4 Innovation from March 2012 to December 2016. At Base4 Innovation, they were involved in the prototyping and integration of a fully functional DNA diagnostic instrument and the design improvement of plasmonic nanostructures.

Brice also worked as a Freelance Optical Physicist at Aeptika Ltd from October 2010 to March 2012, where they gained experience in optical shop testing and metrology. Before that, they founded and worked as a Project Physicist at 4D Optics Ltd from April 2008 to October 2011. At 4D Optics, they developed a high-resolution retinal imaging camera and designed and integrated the entire optical system.

Additionally, Brice worked as a Consultant Metrologist at OpTIC Glyndwr Ltd from October 2010 to May 2011. Brice was involved in the production of prototype segments mirror for the European Southern Observatory (ESO). Brice also worked as a Data Analyst at Integrated Health Partner from January 2008 to June 2008. At Integrated Health Partner, they created and implemented a database and conducted statistical analysis of patient hospital episodes.

Overall, Brice Thurin has gained extensive experience in various roles related to optical engineering, including system engineering, optics development, research and development, and data analysis.

Brice Thurin obtained a PhD degree in Optics and Visual Science from City, University of London, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Optics, Electronics, and Photonics at Polytech'Paris-Sud from 1997 to 2002. In addition to their formal education, Brice Thurin has also acquired a certification in "Learning C#" from LinkedIn in January 2021.
