Megan Cook

Megan Cook has a diverse range of work experience. Megan started their career in 2006 as an Undergraduate Recruiter for University Admissions at Oregon State University. Megan also worked as a Field Assistant and Research Diver, studying reef-fish recruitment and survival. In 2009, they became a Marine Debris Technician at NOAA. Megan then worked as a Research Assistant and Operations Officer at Pacific Whale Foundation in 2010, followed by a role as an Invasive Species Technician and Community Educator for the State of Hawaii. In 2011, they became an Assistant Scientific Diving Trainer at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Megan then transitioned to the role of North American Rolex Scholar for the Our World-Underwater Scholarship Society, representing North America in promoting underwater sciences. Megan also worked as a Copilot and Staff Trainer at Atlantis Submarines in 2013. In 2014, they joined I AM WATER OCEAN CONSERVATION FOUNDATION as the Director of Education and Instructor, developing education programs for ocean conservation. Their most recent role is Director of Education and Outreach at Ocean Exploration Trust, where they lead the implementation of educational and outreach strategies.

From 2020 to 2022, Megan attended Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment and obtained a Master's degree in Masters of Environmental Management through the Duke Environmental Leadership Program.

Between 2005 and 2009, Megan studied at Oregon State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Their major areas of focus included Biology, Marine Biology, and Chemistry.
