Pedro Costa is currently a PhD student at the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, where they have been engaged since 2020. They hold a degree in Informatics and Computer Engineering from the same institution, completed in 2015. Pedro has accumulated extensive experience in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, serving as Head of AI at Ocean Infinity since 2025, and previously as a Senior Engineering Manager (AI) at the same company from 2021 to 2025. Their research expertise includes diabetic retinopathy detection and the identification of adverse drug reactions, with a notable stint as a Visiting Research Scholar at Carnegie Mellon University in 2017. In addition to these roles, Pedro has participated in startup acceleration programs and has experience in project management and software development.
