Edgar Pires is an experienced nurse currently serving as the Enfermeiro Especialista at Hospital Professor Doutor Fernando Fonseca, EPE since August 2008, responsible for the General Emergency Service. In addition, Edgar holds roles in medical emergency and resuscitation as an Enfermeiro Viatura Médica de Emergência e Reanimação (VMER) and BLS Instructor, providing Basic and Advanced Life Support training. From March 2018, Edgar has also worked at Ocean Medical in the Orthopedics Service and serves as an instructor for Advanced Life Support and BLS. Furthermore, Edgar contributes to the Grupo Português de Triagem as a trainer and auditor for the Manchester Triage System since 2018. Edgar's educational background includes a Master's degree in Critical Care Nursing from Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Lisboa, a postgraduate in Health Services Management and Leadership from Atlântica, a postgraduate in Emergency and Trauma from Instituto Politécnico de Saúde do Norte, and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Escola Superior de Saúde de Viseu.
