Michael Cooper

Michael Cooper is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in regional port operations, container management, and finance within the shipping industry. Currently serving as the Director of Regional Port Operations & Container Management for Ocean Network Express since April 2018, Michael oversees empty container flow across Europe and Africa, manages daily equipment planning, and leads digital transformation efforts. Prior to this role, Michael acted as Managing Director for both ONE (Ghana) Ltd and MOL Ghana Ltd, focusing on strategic management, team development, and financial performance in West Africa. Previous positions at Maersk Line encompassed various financial roles, including CFO for the Guinea Cluster and Africa Area Regional CFO for Maersk Logistics, showcasing a strong background in finance, operations, and strategic leadership. Michael also possesses advanced training in media relations and process excellence, underpinned by a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of South Africa.
