Ocean Wise
Alex Mitchell is an experienced professional with a strong background in marine and environmental science. Currently serving as the Manager of the Whale Report Alert System and a Research Scientist within the Whales Initiative at Ocean Wise, Alex focuses on research projects that assess the effectiveness of the WhaleReport Alert System. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Data Analyst and Data Analyst at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and as an Analyst at Future-Fit Foundation. Alex has also worked as a Computational Biologist at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, and as a Research Assistant at both UCL and the Natural History Museum, contributing to various evolutionary biology and biodiversity projects. Additional experiences include management roles in hospitality and customer service environments. Alex holds a Master's degree in Biodiversity, Evolution & Conservation from UCL and a Bachelor's degree in Marine Environmental Science from the University of Portsmouth.
