Andre Alipate is a seasoned professional in geotechnical engineering with extensive experience in tailings management and geotechnical project execution. Currently serving as Principal Engineer for OceanaGold Corporation since March 2021, Andre leads group and enterprise projects in Tailings/Geotechnical. Previously, Andre held positions at Glencore as Senior Med/Long Term Engineer and Senior Geotechnical Engineer, focusing on sub-level cave underground mining as well as underground and open-pit operations. Andre also contributed to international geotechnical projects at Barrick Gold Corporation and gained foundational experience in BHP and AECOM in various geotechnical and engineering roles. Andre holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Engineering Geology with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Canterbury.
