Bill Mallin has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Bill started their career in the United States Air Force as a Structural Engineering Technician from 1987 to 1990. Following that, they worked as a Research Assistant at North Carolina State University for a year.

In 1991, Mallin founded their own company, Mallin & Associates, where they served as the Owner until 1995. Bill then joined Pate Engineers as a Structural Design Engineer for a brief period in 1996.

Later in 1996, Mallin began their long tenure with Baker Hughes, where they held various roles in marketing and communication. Bill started as a Technical Support Engineer and gradually moved up the ladder, becoming the Director of Marketing Communications for different divisions within the company.

In 2001, Mallin worked part-time as a Continuing Education Instructor at Houston Community College. Bill taught until 2003.

Initially, they served as the Director of Global Marketing and Communications before being promoted to Vice President of the same department.
