Seth Cooper has a diverse work experience in the engineering and maritime industry. Seth began their career as a Naval Architect at Naval Sea Systems Command, where they held various roles in engineering, ship design, software development, cost analysis, and project management. Seth then moved on to BMT Designers & Planners, Inc., where they served as a Senior Electrical Engineer and Naval Architect, leading power systems development for large and small vessels. During their time at BMT, they also led industry studies and served as the lead designer for the MSVL power system. Seth then joined Montana State University-Bozeman as a Research Engineer, specializing in battery research, and was part of the "extreme" battery research program at Army Research Laboratory. Prior to their current role, Seth worked at Haystack Technology as a Principal, focusing on engineering and management consulting in the maritime industry, with a specialization in electrification and systems engineering. Seth'sclients included ABB Ltd. Currently, Seth is employed as a Principal Systems Engineer at Oceaneering.
Seth Cooper obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania from 1995 to 1999. Seth went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Ocean Engineering from Virginia Tech, completing it from 2000 to 2003. Lastly, they attained another Master of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Montana State University-Bozeman, studying there from 2013 to 2015.
