Tarah Sullivan Suiter, Ph.D. has a varied work experience that began in 2009 when they were a Surf Instructor for Surf HNL (formerly Girls Who Surf). In 2010, they interned at HiBEAM, a start-up incubator based in Honolulu. From 2011 to 2012, Tarah was an Engineering Intern at Oceanit, an engineering company based in Honolulu. In 2011, they also founded and became President of the student chapter of Engineers Without Borders USA at Trinity College - Hartford, where they were also an Undergraduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant from 2012 to 2013. From 2013 to 2018, Tarah was a Postdoctoral Researcher and Ph.D. Candidate in Materials Science and Engineering Program at the University of California San Diego. During this time, they also served as the lab manager and had multiple publications and presented their work at three international conferences. From 2018 to 2020, Tarah was a Senior Systems Performance Engineer at ASML and then returned to Oceanit as a Senior Engineer.
Tarah Sullivan Suiter, Ph.D. completed their education history with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Science and Engineering from UC San Diego in 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Nano Engineering from UC San Diego in 2014. Tarah also received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College-Hartford in 2013. Her education history began with Iolani High School, from which they graduated in 2009.
