Brian Ober (he/him/his)

Brian Ober (he/him/his) has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Brian began their career in 1998 as a GSM Software Engineer at Motorola. Brian then progressed to roles such as GPRS/UMTS Lead Software Engineer, UMTS Principal Staff Software Engineer, and WiMax ASN Gateway Lead Architect - Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff. In 2011, they joined Nokia Siemens Networks as a Small Cell Software Architect / Core Small Cell O&M Architect for LTE Products. In 2015, they moved to Cleversafe as a Cloud Storage Standards Architect. In 2016, they joined IBM as a Software Architecture Manager - Core Product and Cloud Services. In 2018, they became Chief Technology Officer and Senior Director of Engineering and Technology at IHI Terrasun Solutions, where they built and managed a set of teams comprising of over 30 engineers and 6 people managers spanning cloud, data science, controls / industrial, QA, IT, DevOps, and SaaS applications. Brian is currently employed at Ocient as an Engineering Director, starting in 2022.

Brian Ober earned a BS in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale between 1994 and 1998, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science between 1994 and 1997.
