Nethaji Gallage

Nethaji Gallage is a highly experienced professional in the fields of biotechnology and bioengineering. Currently serving as a Board Member, Founder, and CEO at Octarine since July 2018, Nethaji also held the position of Program Management & Business Development for new business opportunities at River Stone Bio from February 2018 to August 2019. Prior to these roles, Nethaji was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Copenhagen from 2010 to January 2019, focusing on engineering plant pathways for high-value molecules in microorganisms. Nethaji's earlier career includes work as a Research Scientist and PhD student, where the research concentrated on bioengineering vanilla flavor production. Nethaji began professional experience as a Research Assistant at Novozymes and as a Student Research Assistant at the University of Copenhagen. Nethaji holds a Master’s degree in Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Copenhagen, earned from 2003 to 2009.
