Reto Matter

Reto Matter has a long and impressive career in data and analytics. In 2011, they were appointed Chief Data Officer at Viadeo Inc., where they reported to the CEO and oversaw staff in 3 locations. Reto led a group of 15 to drive the Acquisition, Subscription, BI Technology and Analytical efforts. In 2012, they moved to Gap Inc. Direct as Sr. Director Enterprise Data Architect. Here, they were recruited to the Enterprise side of the business to reimagine data architecture and Business Intelligence strategy for Gap’s network of 3,000 retail stores, using its vast number of databases and 100,000 collective ETL jobs. In 2014 and 2015, they were an Advisor for Nemaris Inc. and Traintracks.io, respectively. In 2015, they were Vice President Business Intelligence & Analytics at Prezi and VP Business Intelligence and Data Science at lynda.com a LinkedIn Company. In 2016, they joined Li & Fung Limited as (SVP) - Head of Engineering, Architecture & Data and (SVP) - Head of Data, where they were tapped by new leadership to help build a next-gen digital supply chain data strategy. In 2019, they joined the Institute of Big Data Governance as an Advisory Committee Member. In 2021, they moved to HealthEquity as SVP Data Strategies & Engineering. Currently, they are the Head of Data at Octave Bioscience.

Reto Matter obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland between 1986 and 1989.
