Octave Photonics
David Carlson is a Co-Founder of Octave Photonics, a position held since 2019. Prior to this role, David served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) from 2016 to 2021. David obtained a PhD in Optical Science from the University of Arizona, completing the degree in 2016, and holds a BS in Physics and Computer Science from Bethel University, earned in 2009.

Octave Photonics manufactures packaged ready-to-use nanophotonic devices and provides custom devices and systems for nonlinear nanophotonics. Our products include fiber-coupled devices for supercontinuum generation with 1550 nm lasers, the Comb-Offset Stabilization Module (COSMO) for f-2f self-referencing of laser frequency combs, and electro-optic frequency combs for generating ultra-stable pulse trains at 5 to 30 GHz repetition rates.
