Neil Hayes

Neil Hayes possesses extensive experience in the financial and legal sectors, currently serving as the Head of AIFM for Octopus Energy Generation since October 2023, with responsibilities as CEO of Octopus Energy AIF Management Limited. Prior to this role, Neil held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Marathon Asset Management (Ireland) Limited from December 2013 to October 2023, overseeing the management of Marathon funds internationally and serving as Legal Counsel for Marathon within Ireland. Additionally, Neil has held various legal positions including General Counsel and Company Secretary for the Marathon group and Senior Legal Counsel at GAM. Neil's legal career began at Taylor Wessing as an Associate in the Finance Group, progressing through roles at Intesa Sanpaolo, ABN AMRO Bank N.V., and as a Trainee Solicitor. Academic qualifications include a BA (Hons) in History from the University of York and a PGDL/LPC from the College of Law, London.
