John Storey

John Storey has a diverse work experience that includes roles in various companies. John started their career as a freelance web developer in 2004 and continued in that role until 2010. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as an IT Support Engineer at GEMS Survey Ltd. John then joined Lifestyle Aesthetics Limited as an IT Support Engineer and Web Developer from 2010 to 2011. From 2011 to 2014, they worked at Etherlive Limited, first as a Technical Engineer and then as a Senior Technical Engineer/Tech Lead. After that, they worked at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer from 2014 to 2016. Following that, they joined Nominet as a Senior Systems Administrator from 2016 to 2018. From 2018 to 2020, they worked at Taskize as a Staff Site Reliability Engineer. Currently, they hold the position of Global Head of Platform Engineering at both Octopus Energy and Kraken Technologies, starting in 2020.

John Storey has a background in Artificial Intelligence and Computing from the University of the West of England. John obtained additional certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate and Red Hat Certified Engineer from Amazon Web Services and Red Hat respectively in January 2018. John also obtained certifications as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate and Red Hat Certified System Administrator from Amazon Web Services and Red Hat respectively in August 2017.
