Lorenz Gruber

Lorenz Gruber is an experienced engineer specializing in smart meters, electric vehicles, and battery technology at Octopus Energy Germany since October 2021. Previously, Lorenz served as Team Lead Grid and Senior Software Engineer at The Mobility House, overseeing the development of software for energy storage systems utilizing second-life EV batteries and managing a team of six engineers. Early career roles included Head of Application Engineering at eluminocity, leading product customization and technical integrations with IoT firms, and gaining experience as a software engineer in an E-Mobility startup. Additionally, Lorenz developed applications at Stylight and completed a research internship at Siemens focusing on software architecture for IoT networks. Academic qualifications include a Master of Engineering in Electrical & Electronic Engineering with Management from Imperial College London.
