Taylor (Ted) Day has extensive experience in engineering, particularly in the design and development of ophthalmic surgical equipment. Currently a Project Engineer at OCULUS Surgical since October 2017, Taylor has previously held positions as a Project/Quality Engineer at Insight Instruments and a Mechanical Engineer at Bausch + Lomb. With earlier roles including Development Engineer at Covidien and Mechanical Design Engineer at RF Controls, Taylor has developed a solid foundation in mechanical components for medical devices. Additional experience encompasses agricultural equipment design at Monsanto and process engineering positions at CJ Zone Mfg and Acoustiseal. Taylor holds a Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.

To provide customer care for the target group of vitreoretinal surgeons in North and South America, OCULUS Optikgeräte GmbH, Germany founded OCULUS Surgical, Inc. in Florida, USA in the fall of 2012. At company headquarters in Wetzlar, a new department was created too – the Surgical Division. In 2013 OCULUS introduced the world’s first single-use system for wide-field imaging, the BIOM ready, on the market. This “disposable BIOM” is a revolutionary innovation in vitreoretinal surgery. OCULUS Surgical, Inc. together with OCULUS Optikgeräte GmbH, will continue to provide the ophthalmic surgical market with advancements in wide angle viewing, as well as new, innovative tools for today's ophthalmic surgeon.
