Michael Montgomery has a diverse range of work experience in the field of architecture. Michael started their career as a Draftsman at Carolina Surveyors Inc in 2005. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as an Intern at Shook Kelley, where they gained experience as a Job Captain for mixed-use retail/residential and K-12 addition/renovation projects. Since 2008, Michael has been working at ODELL, initially as an Architectural Intern and later progressing to Architect, Associate, Senior Associate, and currently as the Architect, Office Director. During their time at ODELL, they have been responsible for managing and leading commercial projects in the healthcare, sports, multifamily, and mixed-use markets, and is currently heading the Asheville office for the company. Michael has extensive experience in project management and has overseen projects from initial programming and design through construction administration.

Michael Montgomery earned a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where they studied from 2001 to 2006. In addition to their degree, they obtained certifications as an Architect (AIA) and from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) in June 2011.
