Saroj Kumar Rout

Saroj Kumar Rout is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in organic chemistry and drug discovery. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Odisha Public Service Commission since October 2022, Saroj has previously held positions such as Senior Research Investigator at Syngene International Limited and Postdoctoral Researcher at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Saroj's expertise includes developing innovative methods for the installation of boron-containing compounds on various substrates and leading drug discovery programs at Aurigene Discovery Technologies. A notable highlight includes pioneering an organocatalyzed direct Mannich reaction that achieved high yields and selectivities. Academically, Saroj earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Organic Chemistry from the Indiana Institute of Technology in 2015.
