Chun Kang

Chun Kang has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, with a focus on media entertainment services. Chun is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer at ODK Media, Inc, where they are responsible for developing next-generation entertainment services for various platforms and maximizing business opportunities through ad tech solutions.

Prior to this, Chun Kang served as the Chief Technology Officer at NEW ID, where they led engineering teams in developing a free ad-supported streaming television platform and data-oriented services based on big data analytics and machine learning. Chun also developed full-stack software solutions for content management, scheduling, live streaming, and ad integration.

Before joining NEW ID, Chun Kang held the position of Chief Digital Officer at Kyobo Lifeplanet Life Insurance, where they led engineering teams in enhancing the digital user experience and optimizing processes. Chun collaborated with various partners to provide a one-stop and paperless service experience, and developed smart recommendation solutions and chatbots.

Chun Kang also worked as the Product Development Director at Sorenson Media, where they led engineering teams and managed partner integration. Chun was responsible for client/server applications and collaborated with CE manufacturers.

Prior to that, Chun Kang worked at TiVo as the Director of Solutions Architect and the Product Management Director. Chun proposed architectural solutions and led product/engineering teams in the APAC region. Chun also collaborated with partners to develop software solutions and implemented search & recommendation features based on big data.

Chun Kang began their career as a Principal Software Engineer at Samsung Electronics, where they played a key role in building the foundation of the Samsung Smart TV Service. Chun also served as a Senior Software Engineer at the Digital Solution Center, where they developed new products and designed software architecture.

Chun Kang holds a software engineer position at Yeollim Information & Communication, where they worked at the Spatial Information and Engineering Laboratory.

Chun Kang obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computational Plasma Physics, with a minor in Computer Science & Engineering, from HUFS (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies) in the years 1992 to 1996. Later, from 1996 to 1998, Chun Kang pursued a Master of Science degree in Applied Computer Science from the same institution. In 2018, Chun Kang obtained a certification as an advisory member for Intelligent Broadcasting and Media based on Augmented/Virtual Reality from the Ministry of Science and ICT.
