John Shull is a highly experienced professional in modeling, analysis, and simulation, currently serving as the Lead Project Scientist at the ODU Virginia Modeling, Analysis & Simulation Center (VMASC) since October 2017, following a role as Senior Project Scientist. A former Teaching Assistant at Old Dominion University from September 2014 to August 2017, John was responsible for tutoring, departmental demonstrations, and simulation activities. Leadership experience includes serving as Student Chair for the Student Capstone Conference multiple times, coordinating efforts between faculty and administration. Additionally, John has consultancy experience with Rockwell Restaurant Inc, focusing on decision-making factors in dining and inventory management. Educational achievements include a Doctor of Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Modeling, Virtual Environments, and Simulation from Old Dominion University, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing, Logistics, and Operations Research from the Strome College of Business.

The Virginia Modeling, Analysis, & Simulation Center is a multidisciplinary applied research and enterprise research facility of Old Dominion University, located in the Tri-Cities Center in Suffolk, Virginia. We provide modeling and simulation, analytic research, and technological support for partners across various industry, government, and community sectors; including, healthcare, cybersecurity, strategic defense, transportation and infrastructure, usability, and instructional design.
