James Dorris

James Dorris is the founder of Odys Aviation and was previously the director of electromagnetics at Arrivo. James is responsible for the architecture and development of the Arrivo propulsion, levitation, and power systems. James developed the architecture for the Arrivo powertrain and the Arrivo propulsion motor. James also built and led the Arrivo powertrain team consisting of world-class electrical, mechanical, controls, thermal, materials, and manufacturing engineers. James has also lead the powertrain product planning and development roadmap; defining milestones, timelines, head-count, and budget for maturing technology and manufacturing readiness levels.

James Dorris has a Ph.D. in Plasma Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University.
