Gyorgy Gyomai is the head of section for Smart Data Practices in the Statistics and Data Directorate at the OECD since January 2006, leading a team of over eight and overseeing the implementation of data modeling best practices. Gyorgy has also held various leadership roles within the OECD, including head of section for Systems and Methodology and head of the Quarterly National Accounts Unit, contributing significantly to the SDMX global roadmap and providing support to numerous statisticians. Prior to the OECD, Gyorgy was a financial markets analyst at Magyar Nemzeti Bank, focusing on yield curve estimation and financial markets analysis for monetary policy. Academic qualifications include an MSc in Economics from Corvinus University of Budapest and a Master in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
