Piet Battiau

Piet Battiau has extensive experience in taxation and public policy, currently serving as the Head of the Consumption Taxes Unit at the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) since March 2011. Prior roles include Chairman of the Fiscal Committee and VAT Working Group at the European Banking Federation from July 2003 to March 2011 and Head of Public Policy at KBC Group from 1995 to March 2011. Additional experience at KBC Bank involved positions such as Head of International Taxation and Tax Adviser. Piet Battiau holds a Master’s degree in Law from Rijksuniversiteit Gent and a Bachelor’s degree in Tax Science from Fiscale Hogeschool Brussel, along with secondary education in Modern Languages.
