Ralf Imstepf

Ralf Imstepf serves as an Assistant Professor of Tax Law at ILE-HSG Institut für Law and Economics since February 2021 and holds the position of Head of the Legal Department at the Swiss VAT Authority since October 2017. Additionally, Ralf Imstepf is a member of the OECD Working Party No. 9 on Consumption Taxes. Prior experience includes working as an Attorney and Tax Advisor at Homburger from January 2015 to October 2017, a Law Clerk at the Federal Administrative Court from March 2012 to December 2014, and a Junior Associate at Homburger from March 2011 to March 2012. Ralf Imstepf began a career in academia as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Bern from June 2006 to February 2011. Ralf Imstepf holds an Executive MBA in General Management from the University of St.Gallen (2019-2021) and is a Certified Tax Expert from EXPERTsuisse (2015-2017). Education includes a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Bern and various qualifications in law from institutions including WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business), Université de Poitiers, and the University of Bern.
