Tadashi Matsumoto is a seasoned professional in sustainable urban development, currently serving as Head of Unit for Sustainable Development and Global Relations at OECD since April 2009. With extensive experience, Matsumoto co-led the National Urban Policy Programme with UN-Habitat and Cities Alliance, contributing to significant reports and assessments like the Global State of National Urban Policy (2018) and disaster risk management in Southeast Asia (2018). Prior to OECD, Matsumoto held various academic positions at the University of Tsukuba and served in the Government of Japan, focusing on revitalizing urban centers and promoting renewable energy policies. Matsumoto earned a PhD in Engineering from The University of Tokyo and a Master of Urban Planning from NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
