Valerie Frey is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in public governance and social protection, currently serving as the Acting Head of the Governance Indicators and Performance Division at the OECD since October 2012. In this role, Valerie oversees projects such as the OECD Global Trust Survey and the monitoring of the OECD Recommendation on Human-Centred Public Administrative Services. Previous roles include Senior Economist leading the Social Risks Unit at the OECD and coordinating the inaugural cross-national OECD Survey on Drivers of Trust in Public Institutions. Academic experience includes being an Adjunct Professor at Sciences Po and various research and teaching positions at Yale University, where Valerie earned a Ph.D. in Political Science. Valerie has also contributed as a Consultant at the World Bank, focusing on economic governance and social protections in the Middle East.
