Senior Scientist /____ /biochemistry/targeted Protein Degradation at Oerth Bio

Sureshbabu Nagarajan has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Sureshbabu started their career as a Production Chemist at Raptakos, Brett & Co. Limited from 1996 to 1997. Sureshbabu then worked as a Production Technologist at Perfetti Van Melle for a year before entering the field of research.

Sureshbabu Nagarajan pursued their research career with roles at various esteemed institutions. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Bar-Ilan University, focusing on enzyme dynamics and protein-ligand interactions. Following this, they joined Emory University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate from 2009 to 2012, where they developed a novel methodology for introducing reporter probes into proteins.

Continuing their research journey, Sureshbabu Nagarajan joined CSIRO as a Research Fellow from 2012 to 2014, where they studied the self-assembly of the HIV-1 Gag polyprotein. Sureshbabu then spent a year at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem as a Visiting Scientist, working on protein misfolding and aggregation in yeast and mammalian systems.

From 2015 to 2016, Sureshbabu Nagarajan worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Michigan State University, focusing on the early stages of aggregation in Alzheimer's peptide. Sureshbabu then joined Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center as a Lab Manager cum Postdoctoral Scientist from 2016 to 2019, investigating the role of alpha-Synuclein in skin cancer, viral parkinsonism, and Parkinson's disease.

Sureshbabu Nagarajan's most recent positions include a role as a Staff Scientist at Baylor College of Medicine from 2019 to 2021, where they worked on DNA-encoded small molecule libraries for screening targets and drug development. Currently, they are employed as a Senior Scientist at Oerth Bio, where they are involved in DNA-encoded library selection, activity assay development, protein-ligand binding assay, and recombinant protein design and production.

Sureshbabu Nagarajan attended the University of Madras from 2001 to 2008. Sureshbabu earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry during this period.
