Joshua Colvin has over 20 years of professional work experience. Joshua began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Northern Arizona University in 1993. In 1997, they worked as a Summer-Fall co-op in Architecture Validation for Itanium at Intel Corporation. In 1999, they worked as a Summer Intern, Systems Administrator at Industrial Light & Magic. Joshua then worked as a Senior Developer and Architect at Safeweb Inc. from 2000 to 2003. From 2003 to 2007, they worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Symantec. From 2007 to 2011, they worked as a Coordinator for TGen North's Center for Pathogenic Information, where they developed custom programs in Perl, C and Bash, and developed mathematical models, novel algorithms and software packages in C and Perl. From 2011 to 2020, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Ticketmaster, where they helped build Docker / Helm environment for automated testing and portable development of legacy services, created Wireshark plugin to parse and display custom Ticketmaster UDP protocols, created BDD tests against existing code, refactored legacy C++ code, provided training to new employees, increased reliability of seat availability caching server, implemented new functionality for consumer kiosks using mod_perl web service, and took ownership of continued development and optimization of multiple large C++ server programs. Currently, they are working as a Senior Software Engineer at Offchain Labs.
Joshua Colvin obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Northern Arizona University between 1993 and 2000.
