Joe Soloway is a Deputy Public Defender at the Colorado State Public Defender, having advanced from the role of SPA Attorney in early 2021. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Joe worked as a Labor and Employment Specialist at the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment and as an Asset Protection Specialist at Best Buy. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State University of Denver.

The single overriding objective for the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender is to provide zealous and effective representation for indigent individuals who are charged with the commission of a crime in Colorado. The right to counsel is established by both the United States and Colorado Constitutions.
