Colorado State Public Defender
Lindsay Stone is an experienced trial attorney currently with the Colorado State Public Defender since August 2017. Prior to this role, Lindsay served as a student attorney at the Edwin F. Mandel Legal Aid Clinic from June 2015 to May 2017 and gained additional legal experience as a research assistant to Professor Justin Driver at the University of Chicago Law School. Other notable positions include student attorney roles with the Committee for Public Counsel Services and the Federal Defender Program for the Northern District of Illinois, as well as an internship with the ACLU of Illinois. Lindsay holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School (2014-2017) and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2010-2014).

The single overriding objective for the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender is to provide zealous and effective representation for indigent individuals who are charged with the commission of a crime in Colorado. The right to counsel is established by both the United States and Colorado Constitutions.
