Joe Aguilar

Joe Aguilar has had a diverse work experience. Joe started their career at Fortaleza Asset Management, Inc. in 2013, where they worked as an Operations Associate before transitioning to the role of Equity Research Associate/Operations Associate. In 2016, Joe joined the Illinois State Treasurer's office as the Deputy Director of Investment Analysis and Due Diligence, where they were responsible for overseeing externally managed program managers and conducting due diligence for investment portfolios. In 2018, they were promoted to Director of Investment Analysis and Due Diligence, where they led the investment analysis team and implemented effective investment processes. Most recently, in 2021, Joe became the Chief Investment Officer at the Illinois State Treasurer's office. Additionally, they served as an Adjunct Instructor at Aurora University starting in 2020.

Joe Aguilar has a Master's Degree in Finance from the University of Miami Herbert Business School. Joe also has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Finance and Business & Commerce from Aurora University. In addition, they obtained a certification in "Theories and Concepts of Private Equity" from the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) in 2020.
