John Renick has extensive work experience in both the public and military sectors. From May 2021 to June 2023, they held various roles at the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer, starting as Deputy Chief Information Officer, then becoming Deputy CIO and Operations Director, and finally serving as Acting Chief Information Officer and Director of Operations. Prior to this, from May 1995 to May 2021, John worked at IL ARNG, where they started as a Senior Human Resources NCO and later transitioned to the position of Senior Operations Manager.
John Renick earned their Bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University, completing their education from 1997 to 2001. In addition to their degree, they hold certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA, obtained in January 2024, CompTIA A+ from CompTIA in 2022, and IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL) from PeopleCert in 2021.
