Angélica M. Acevedo is a skilled communications professional with extensive experience in journalism and media relations. Currently serving as a Press Officer at the Office of the Queens Borough President since February 2022, Angélica assists with media inquiries, writes press materials, and manages newsletters. Previous roles include Digital Editor and Reporter at Schneps Media, as well as an Entertainment Fellow at Insider, and various internships with Billboard, NYLON, Rolling Stone, and TimesLedger Newspapers. Angélica also held editorial leadership positions at The Torch, the independent student newspaper of St. John's University, where responsibilities included overseeing editorial staff and ensuring financial stability through advertising engagement. Office of the Queens Borough President
Duties include to comment on all land-use items in their borough, advocate borough needs in the annual municipal budget process, appoint Community Boards, chair the Borough Boards, and serve as ex officio members of various boards and committees. They generally act as advocates of their boroughs at the mayoral agencies, the city council, the New York State government, public corporations and private businesses. Their regulations are compiled in title 45 of the New York City Rules.
