John McNeill

John McNeill, CPA, CA, currently serves as the Executive Director of Corporate Services and CFO at the Office of the Representative for Children and Youth since January 2025. Prior to this role, John held the position of Chief Financial Officer at the BC Ombudsperson from May 2024 to January 2025 and served as Chief Financial Officer at the Office of the Auditor General of B.C. from December 2015 to May 2024, where responsibilities also included Manager of Finance and Administration, Manager of Financial Audit, and Auditor. Earlier in John's career, experience included roles as Senior Accountant and Accountant at Grant Thornton LLP (Canada) from May 2012 to December 2015, and a position as Volunteer Coordinator at the University of Calgary Students' Union between September 2011 and May 2012. John McNeill holds a degree in Commerce with a focus on Accounting from the University of Calgary, completed in 2012.
