Leah A Owens is an experienced legal professional currently serving as an Assistant State Attorney in the Proactive Targeted Prosecution Unit at the Office of the State Attorney since September 2011. Owens is also the founder and leader of the Digital Evidence Task Force and has worked in the Homicide Unit. Prior to this role, Owens gained experience as a Law Intern under Magistrate Judge James R. Klindt at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and served as a Student Legal Services Advisor at the University of Florida - Fredric G. Levin College of Law. Owens possesses a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion/Religious Studies from Florida State University, complemented by prior experience as a Professional Ballroom Dance Instructor and Competitor.
