Shakema Onias, Esq. serves as an Assistant State Attorney at the Office of the State Attorney since March 2017, where responsibilities include prosecuting over a thousand cases and handling various legal proceedings such as bond hearings, pre-trial motions, and plea negotiations. Previous experience includes roles as a Conflict Analyst at Akerman LLP, where corporate and public records searches were conducted to identify conflicts of interest, and as a Legal Intern at the Homelessness and Legal Advocacy Clinic, the Federal Public Defender, and The Baez Law Firm, with a focus on client intake, trial preparation, and research. Shakema Onias earned a Juris Doctorate from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and a BA in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Oklahoma.
