Mechatronics Engineer at OffWorld

Vladimir Peña has worked in the field of engineering since 2018. Vladimir began their career as a Teacher Assistant at California State University-Los Angeles, where they held supplemental workshops and educated students on constructing circuits on bread boards as well as how to utilize basic meters to measure volt, current and resistance. Vladimir also applied class knowledge to real life application by creating projects for students. In 2018, they also took on the role of Project Lead at the Cal State LA Robotics Laboratory, where they designed and developed a dynamic control system for a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine for decentralized power systems. Vladimir also produced CAD drawing of components to optimize placement using SolidWorks and utilized ANSYS to simulate wind turbine under different wind conditions and optimize configurations. Most recently, in 2020, they joined OffWorld as a Mechatronics Engineer.

Vladimir Peña obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Los Angeles between 2011 and 2018. Vladimir then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university, which they completed in 2020. In addition, they obtained three certifications from East Los Angeles Occupational: Auto Tech: Electrical And Electronics/2 (March 2011), Auto Tech: Electrical And Electronics/1 (February 2011) and Auto Tech: Engine Repair (November 2010).
