Chris Olsen has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Chris has worked at Ofgem since 2018, starting as a Senior Data Business Analyst and currently serving as the Head of Data Insight. In these positions, Chris has been responsible for modeling data, designing data flows, and exploring data using tools like Python, SQL, and BI tools. Chris collaborates with subject matter experts and business analysts to design target system states and ensure the output from data engineers meets the required standards.

Prior to Ofgem, Chris worked at Nissan Motor Corporation from 2013 to 2018 as a Business Intelligence Project Manager, where they oversaw BI and analytics projects, engaged with stakeholders at various levels, tracked deliverables, defined roadmaps, and facilitated the transition to business-as-usual operations. Chris also took an interest in the technical domain to assess solutions and challenge vendors when necessary.

Before that, Chris worked at NextLeft as a Web Developer from 2012 to 2013, developing web applications for local and national businesses. Chris gained experience in managing cash flow, drafting business case assessments, programming applications, conducting user research, and preparing business proposals.

Chris's career began at Gateshead Council in 2009 as a Senior Operational Support Analyst, where they focused on providing tools and support to the social services department. Chris proposed and designed frameworks for performance indicator management, generated scrutiny reports, and developed internal applications to aid risk management.

Their earliest role was an Administration Officer at HM Revenue & Customs from 2008 to 2009.

Throughout their career, Chris Olsen has demonstrated strong analytical and technical skills, project management expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Chris has a comprehensive understanding of data usage, web development, and operational support.

Chris Olsen has a diverse education history. In 1998, they began their education at Hebburn Comprehensive School, where they completed their secondary education, though no specific degree or field of study is provided. From 2003 to 2006, Chris attended South Tyneside College, where they pursued A Levels in ICT, Business Studies, and Law. Following this, they enrolled at Gateshead College from 2010 to 2012, specializing in Digital Applications Development, focusing on Computer Software and Media Applications. Later, Chris pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Sunderland, completing it between 2012 and 2013. In April 2020, they obtained the Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) certification from Scrum Alliance.
