Emmanuel Ogungbemi

Emmanuel Ogungbemi, PhD has a diverse work experience in the fields of data engineering, management consulting, data science, and process engineering.

In 2009, Emmanuel worked as a Process Engineer at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. Following this, they held a role as a Data Analyst, Brand Developer, and Sales Lead at T & B CAKECRAFT Ltd from 2014 to 2018.

Starting from 2016, Emmanuel worked as a PhD researcher and Demonstrator at the University of the West of Scotland, where they conducted projects and activities within the Fuel Cell Research Group. Emmanuel also demonstrated fuel cell testing experiments to undergraduate students, resulting in increased student interest in the module.

Emmanuel then transitioned to a private consultancy role as a Data Scientist (Machine Learning) from 2018 to 2019. During this time, they worked on machine learning projects for clients.

From 2020 to 2021, Emmanuel served as a Data Scientist at Sword Venture, where they contributed to data science initiatives. Emmanuel also worked as a Data Scientist at bp, focusing on data analytics and insights during the same period.

In 2021, Emmanuel joined Bip UK | Bip US (formerly Chaucer) as a Management Consultant, advising senior client stakeholders on the benefits of AI and facilitating digital transformation within organizations.

Continuing their data engineering journey, Emmanuel later became a Data Engineer at NATS in 2022. In the same year, they also took on the role of Technical Design Lead - Data Engineering at Ofgem.

Currently, Emmanuel holds the position of Head of Data Engineering at Ofgem, where they oversee data engineering initiatives within the organization.

Emmanuel Ogungbemi, PhD, has a diverse education history spanning various institutions and fields of study. Emmanuel holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemical Engineering, with a specialization in Sustainable and Renewable Energy, from the University of the West of Scotland. Prior to this, they obtained a Master's Degree in Advanced Engineering and Management from Sheffield Hallam University. Emmanuel'sundergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University and a National Diploma in Mineral Resources Engineering from The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti.

In addition to their formal education, Ogungbemi has acquired several certifications to enhance their professional skills. Emmanuel obtained certifications such as "Developing CI/CD Solutions with Azure DevOps" and "Python Projects" from LinkedIn in 2022. Emmanuel also holds multiple certifications from Microsoft, including "Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate," "Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals," "Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals," and "Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals." These certifications were obtained between 2021 and 2022. Furthermore, they have obtained certifications in subjects like data engineering, agile methodologies, scrum, Kanban, machine learning, artificial intelligence, diversity and inclusion, and leadership from various institutions such as LinkedIn, Python Institute, and Geophysical Insights.
