Harvey Beck

Harvey Beck is a Senior Economist at Ofgem, specializing in energy policy reforms that address electricity charging and decarbonisation issues. With extensive experience in Cost Benefit Analysis, Impact Assessment, and quality assurance, they have a proven track record in evaluating projects and identifying those that deliver value for money. Prior to joining Ofgem in 2008, Harvey served as a Senior Economist for the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in Northern Ireland from 1991 to 2006, where they implemented economic appraisal guidance across various sectors. Harvey began their career as a Research Officer at the University of Reading, coordinating research input for agricultural innovations. They hold an MSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Reading and a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Nottingham.
