David Boland serves as the Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO) and is responsible for guiding the firm’s vision with respect to innovation and knowledge management. In his role, Mr. Boland oversees the Knowledge Management Department, which includes managing the firm’s knowledge sharing and collaboration tools internally as well as externally with clients. Additionally, Mr. Boland is responsible for the firm’s Research Services, Data Analytics, Practice Intelligence and LPM capabilities.
Mr. Boland joins Ogletree Deakins from Grant Thornton where he served as Chief Knowledge Officer. Earlier, Mr. Boland held various leadership roles including Deputy Chief Knowledge Officer at Deloitte. In addition to overseeing both U.S. and global knowledge management teams, Boland’s experience includes leading a successful enterprise-wide digital transformation that included the implementation of a digital workspace and multiple mobile apps to support innovation, revenue growth, and operational efficiencies for professional services firms.
In addition to his experience in knowledge management, Boland is also a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified ScrumMaster®. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia and completed an Executive Education program from Harvard Business School. Boland has received industry and peer acclaim for his work. In 2019, the American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC) honored his accomplishments in their inaugural Excellence in Knowledge Management award.
