Jens Plassmeier

Jens Plassmeier is a seasoned professional in the fields of synthetic biology and biotechnological innovation. Currently serving as Vice President of Technology at Ohalo since November 2024, Jens has prior experience as Senior Vice President at Absci, overseeing both Biologics Discovery Technologies and Synthetic Biology from May 2021 to October 2024. Jens held multiple leadership roles at Conagen, including Vice President of Biomaterials and Director of Innovations, where responsibilities included leading teams in strain engineering and automation. Jens also contributed significantly to BASF as Sr. Team Leader for Biobased Chemicals, driving advancements in microbial strain engineering. An academic background features a PhD in Molecular Genetics and extensive research experience at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, focusing on genetic engineering and systems biology.
